Work Experience in Northern Ireland

Welcome to the Montessori British Work Experience Programme in Northern Ireland—a unique opportunity for our students to explore the world of work, develop essential skills, and discover their passions in real-life settings.

What Is Work Experience?

Work experience allows students to spend time with local employers in a small community, close to one of the main cities in Northern Ireland.

Gaining practical insight into different industries and job roles, our programme bridges the gap between academic learning and the professional world, helping students make informed decisions about their future careers.

Placements may include businesses like farms, cafes, factories, shops, lawyers, driving schools…

A Work Experience period never gets longer than 90 days.

How Does It Work?

  • Personalized Placements: Students are encouraged to identify areas of interest and, with support from the school, secure placements that match their aspirations

  • Flexible Duration: Placements typically last between 2 and 28 days, but can be tailored to individual needs and employer availability

  • Support and Safety: Montessori British oversees all placements, ensuring they are safe, well-organized, and meet regulatory requirements

  • Reflection and Assessment: Students keep a portfolio of their experiences and receive feedback from their hosts, supporting self-assessment and personal growth

  • Compatibility with our Nomad programs: Students will still attend classes and do their homework in a disciplined setting.

Living in Northern Ireland

Montessori British hosts a group no bigger than 6 students in a domestic setting:

  • Where students must learn how to share domestic tasks and live with others

  • Acquiring independence and autonomy, plus healthy habits

  • Discovering the wilderness and beauty of Nature 

  • Practicing English

As a Non-Schengen territory, there is no need for a Visa and can be combined with the Schengen 90 days visa-free stay in Spain.

We can arrange transfers from Belfast International and Dublin airports.
